Unable to get Url Rewriter 3.5 to work under IIS6

We have installed ManagedFusion Url Rewriter 3.5 under IIS6 in Windows 2003 Server but cannot get it to work. Installing it on a separate machine of the same specification works fine (using the exact same configuration and installation files). The machine we are having problems with we had to install the .Net extensions on prior to it working but we are not sure if there is something else that we should be checking. When we try to load any URL from the site we get a "404" error being reported (also logged as such in the IIS web site log file). We are going to try using the "RewriteLog" to see if that gives us any information about what might be wrong (there are no messages in the Windows Event Viewer). At this point we are considering simply installing Apache but before we do does anyone have any suggestions as to what we can try so that we can figure out what is wrong with IIS?

Have you made sure to follow the wildcard instructions for IIS 6.0 under the readme file?

Thank you for your reply. Yes we have a working installation on another machine. On both we followed the complete instructions posted on the site (including making sure the "Check that file exists" is not checked on both). Is there something specific in the environment that might be causing the issue? Could it be a .Net issue? Is there any way we can get any debug information to try to figure this out?

Well you can always build the code yourself and run it to find out whats going on. But chances are if you are getting a 404 response, it is never making it to the rewriter. And IIS 6.0 isn't friendly at all to debug. The reason I mentioned the wildcards is that, 99 times out of 100 when you are getting a 404 error with the rewriter the wildcards are not enabled, or not enabled correctly.
