Error in Rewriter

I just moved our site to a new server, and now I'm getting this error intermittently.

Do you have any idea what this could be?  It seems to work most of the time, then just stops. I have to do an application pool recycle and stop and start the site to get it to work.

No ever seen this before, but this error seems troubling, as if it is coming from the windows file system:

The other detail I can give is that we had a server that was having hardware problems, so we created a virtual machine of the server before it completely went down.  Everything about it is the same, except that it's running as a virtual machine now. Could that affect it somehow?

Don't know, it is out of my expertise.  But you are definitely getting that error from a file system exception
