proxy - is this what it does?

Trying to solve a problem we have, I stumbled on the product, it sounds it could help out.

For our application we we have a soap service request that arrives at our web server.

But the soap service actually is on another server in our internal netwerk. Can the URL rewriter

proxy the request to the actual soap server, and provide the response back to the client as if it was answered by the web server?

The request has a path like "~\somename\someservice.svc" and we would like to get a response from

a server with the following path "http:\\someinternalserver\somename\someservice.svc" , is that possible and

how would the configuration entries for such a proxy look like?

Yes you would do it with the following: RewriteRule ^/(somename/someservice.svc) http://someinternalserver/$1 [NC, P]
