Noooo.. %0 is for the whole RewriteCond str, not %1 !

As I use v3.6 and going round in circles with MFRW doing CRAZY things and writing all sorts of unexpected stuff into my URLs, it's become apparent that:

RewriteCond blahyada ^blah(.*)$

your %1 contains "blahyada" and %2 contains "yada"

Argh!

%1 is supposed to contain "yada", %2 doesn't exist. The entire pattern is %0

please minus 1 off all your %backreferences (your %1 should be %0 !)
